TCCHS Alumni Foundation, Inc. Partnering with WEKT
We are having much better results from using Jotform than we have other routes seeking information about TCCHS alumni during the 60 years of TCCHS’s existence. Please follow the attached link so we can secure ‘snippets’ of information about the graduates of TCCHS during those years as well as other folks who have attended TCCHS during their high school years. We are sharing those ‘snippets’ with WEKT to include on their radio broadcasts. Your help is much appreciated and needed. We ask you reach out to your family members, your classmates, and your friends who attended TCCHS to share their information as well. The link is https://www.jotform.com/232836849717067. TCCHS Alumni Foundation Partnering with WEKT Radio Station 1070 AM
The TCCHS Alumni Foundation, Inc. is partnering with WEKT to spotlight alumni of TCCHS to celebrate the first 60 years of TCCHS’s existence. TC opened in the fall of 1963, and we want to provide ‘snippets’ of facts about those who have exited the doors of TCCHS. Below is a Word document that can be easily downloaded. Once you provide your responses, please return the document to tcchsaa@gmail.com. We look forward to sharing the lives, accomplishments, and thoughts of the approximately 7500 or more alumni of TCCHS! These will be shared on WEKT’s (1070 AM) radio station, one now making its home on the Square in Elkton.

New Lifetime Member of the TCCHS Alumni Foundation, Inc.
Most folks in Todd County know Kim Daniel Rager, guidance counselor at TCCHS with a background in art and photography as well. Last week Kim became the first lifetime member for the TCCHS Alumni Foundation, Inc. (Please know lifetime members of the TCCHS Alumni Association have been grandfathered into the new foundation.) Kim’s love of Todd County and TCCHS resounds daily as she works with the youth of Todd County and as she devotes her time and energy to her family and church. Thank you, Kim, for your love of TCCHS and your support of our scholarship efforts! Lifetime memberships are $200 and can be mailed to TCCHS Alumni, P.O. Box 611, Elkton, KY 42220. Yearly memberships are $10, and they can also be mailed to the same box. Again, we appreciate the support of so many as we continue our mission of providing scholarships to the seniors of TCCHS! (Kim is pictured with another TCCHS grad who also has become an art teacher in Arkansas!)

Mullings – TCCHS Alumni Association Awarded $52,000 in Scholarships to TCCHS Class of 2023!
Mrs. Joyce Darby, the TCCHS Alumni Association’s treasurer who is also a retired CPA, shared in recent days she hopes the generosity shown this year to the TCCHS Class of 2023 will encourage more individuals, businesses, and alumni to sponsor scholarships in the future. Her remarks follow this year’s TCCHS Class of 2023 receiving $52,000 in scholarship monies on Tuesday evening, May 9, at the annual TCCHS Awards Program held in the TCCHS auditorium. That figure, which included 23 students receiving 29 different scholarships, reflects the love Todd Countians and those with Todd County and/or TCCHS roots have for the next generation of TCCHS graduates.
That $52,000 figure also reflects an increase of $25,150 from the scholarships provided in 2022. Since its formation in 2013 and its first awarding scholarships to the TCCHS Class of 2014, the TCCHS Alumni Association has awarded in a ten-year period approximately $183,850 in scholarships to TCCHS graduates. Mr. Lee Quarles, principal of TCCHS who worked previously in the Clarksville – Montgomery County School System, remarked recently he was amazed at the total amount of monies the association continues to provide to TC grads. Anna Jo Parmley, a director of the association and a 1966 graduate of TCCHS, shared, “It is so rewarding the association has the support of so many individuals and groups who want to ‘give back’ to their alma mater and their community.”
In announcing the scholarships at the Awards Program, Carolyn Wells, secretary for the association, explained this year’s scholarships reflected two new businesses who willingly embraced the association and its efforts to assist the seniors of TCCHS. One of those business owners, Ms. Jo Ann Coblentz of “Jo Ann’s Country Flowers” of the Guthrie area, expressed her desires to assist a student entering into an agriculture-related area. Ms. Coblentz’s scholarship in the amount of $3000 also reflects the largest monetary figure for a scholarship during the association’s 10 years. Obviously, someone who works in an agriculture area realizes the need for the next generation to learn the skills required to add to the work force.
The other new sponsor this year is Myles McIntosh of “M Printing” of the Springfield area. Myles, a 2004 graduate of TCCHS, reached out in recent weeks with his desire to support a student pursuing a degree in a technical area. This year’s scholarships also saw Bob and Sandy Carver increase the Gary Strader Memorial Technical Scholarship from $500 to $1000. That scholarship is in memory of Sandy’s first husband who died in a farming accident shortly after their high school graduation. Because of the generosity of Todd County supporters, the Directors/Officers of the association were also able to provide each of the 23 applicants a $1000 TCCHS Alumni Association’s Scholarship Honoring TCCHS’s 60th Year. As many are aware, TCCHS first opened its doors in the fall of 1963, and the officer/directors wanted to honor TCCHS’s heritage through these additional scholarships.
Other sponsors this year include ones who in previous years have also reached out to the association offering to sponsor scholarships to ‘ease’ the financial burden graduates and their families experience as graduates bridge their lives to the next chapter. Charlotte Morrow, another director of the association and a retired educator as well, commented, “We have been so blessed to have so many willing to write checks and support our TCCHS graduates yearly.” Adding she understands times are difficult for many, she also expressed her gratitude to those who faithfully provide the monies needed to maintain the scholarships each year. Ms. Parmley, who worked for many years as a social worker and with the Todd County School System in several roles, also emphasized the need for those receiving scholarships to send ‘thank you’ notes to those sponsors who so willingly donate the scholarship monies.
